Lombok Timur, 24 April 2025 - As part of the effort to realize quality data and support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, the Central Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Indonesia together with the UN Joint Program (UNFPA, UNICEF, WFP, and UNRCO) are currently carrying out Small Area Estimation (SAE) modeling of five key demographic indicators, namely: Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR), Neonatal Mortality Rate (NMR), Contraception Prevalence Rate (CPR), Unmet Need for Modern Contraception, Age Specific Fertility Rate (ASFR) age 10-14 years.
To ensure that the results of this modeling are in accordance with the real conditions in the field, the implementation team conducted field testing activities and direct discussions with relevant agencies in East Lombok District on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
The activity began with coordination with BPS Lombok Timur District, followed by a visit to the Health Office and the Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, and Family Planning (DP3AKB). In-depth discussions were also held to obtain additional information related to fertility and mortality at the local level, as material for validation and improvement of the estimation model being built.
This activity is an important step in providing demographic data that is more disaggregated to the subnational level, so that policies taken can be more targeted and responsive to community needs.
Thank you for the support and cooperation of all parties, especially the OPD of East Lombok Regency, in the success of this activity.
